Circulation

• Checking in and checking out a book
You may check out a maximum of 3 materials. An I.D. is required to check out all materials. Students with overdue books or fines may not check out materials until their debts are cleared.

Books and Playaway Audio Books may be checked out for 2 weeks and renewed once, unless there is a hold.
Magazines
- Current magazines (in the plastic binders) are for use in the library and are not circulated.
- Back issues (located on shelf under current issue) of magazines may be checked out for one week.
Reference
- Reference materials with a blue call number label are for library use and may not be checked
  out.
- Reference materials with a green call number label may be checked out overnight and must be returned the next day. These are located on the wall to the right of the circulation desk.

• Renewing a checked out material
To renew a material, go to the circulation desk and request a renewal. Materials should be renewed before they are overdue.  You do not need your ID or material to renew. Renews are limited, and if someone has placed a hold on the material, it cannot be renewed.

• Placing a hold on a material
If a material is checked out, you can place a hold on it, so it can't be renewed or checked out to someone else. A hold may be placed one of two ways:

- Go to the circulation desk and request a hold
- Access your library account (see the Accessing Your Account page for instructions). Look up the title in the catalog, click on the book's title to open the catalog page, and click on the Hold it! button to the right

When the material is returned, you will receive a  notice in your 1st period class that the book is ready for you to check out. It will be held for two days only.

- Overdue books are charged at 10¢ per day up to to $5.00. Fines can be negotiated.
