Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the first book out of a series of 7. I absolutely love it! The amount of adventure, the way you can see Hogwarts in your mind while reading! Everything comes alive in your mind and makes it impossible to want to stop reading. From when you first read about the characters to the end where they save the students, families, and staff from getting a lifelong torcher from “you know who”. The way Rowling brings the story alive is different from any other book I've ever read.

When Harry, Ron, and Hermione first meet at the Hogwarts express, Ron and Harry become good friends but aren't that into Hermione just yet. Ron calls her all these names but they all come to like each other. People refer to them as the Golden Trio, which may be easier to understand later in the books. I just can't express how much I love these stories. The way it all just comes to life in your mind is just unbelievable. After reading these books, every September 1st will now be the day you would get to go home to where you wish you could be. It's so unreal that people even think that there is no way Hogwarts isn't real.

This book is about Harry’s first time going to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It all just comes so quickly to him. One morning he wakes up to a letter from Hogwarts. Then from there it gets pretty crazy. He has to live with his aunt, uncle, and cousin because his parents had been murdered by “you know who”. After they died, he for some reason could not kill Harry, so he was trying to figure out a way to get Harry dead. When Hagrid picks up Harry and takes him to Diagon Alley, his adventure begins. From when Harry buys his wand at Ollivander's to when he meets Ron before entering Platform 9 ¾ to when they become friends with Hermione to the time where they have to leave Hogwarts. When they get off the train and get to Hogwarts, they have to get sorted into their houses. Either Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff. It's all just too good. Just for Harry’s first year, they do so many things to save themselves (especially Harry) and Hogwarts from “you know who”. The 3 of them sacrifice their lives to adventure into and save Hogwarts. They introduce not only Hagrid, Harry, Hermione, and Ron, but you read about others like Draco, Neville, Dumbledore, Snape, and some others who maybe aren't that innocent after all. Heads up, Snape isn’t the nicest character ever, for now. For a good amount of the book, Harry and Ron weren’t even really best friends with Hermione yet, until they saved her life of course. The story just keeps unfolding while they introduce more characters and face challenges, achievements, adventures, and of course, great times. When Harry sees himself in the mirror of Erised with his parents and when he has to kill Professor Quirrell. Harry's life is forever changed after he came to Hogwarts. This school is their home.

There is just so much to explain and so much to enjoy that it is impossible to fit it into these paragraphs. Everything is just unreal. Before I read these books I thought, “Oh how good could these books really be?” But now, I am in love with this series. Of course, I give it a 100/5 stars. Even if you feel you might not like the book, still read it. You never know if you will change your mind like I did. And after reading this book, if you think it’s amazing, just wait until you read the rest of them. Also make sure to watch the movies and decide which one is better. After watching the movies, you might get a little crush on some of the characters too. -- Erin

Rowling has created a masterpiece. The books and movies can take you to a whole different world, full of imagination!

J.K Rowling had many inspirations for the idea of Harry Potter. One could be that she read lord of the rings before processing the idea of Harry Potter. Although in 1990 while sitting on a delayed train from Manchester to London King’s Cross she started scripting the first book. Over the next five years, she thought out all seven books in the Harry Potter series. J.K. wrote in longhand,rather than typing or printing. By 2 years she built up a massive amount of notes. Every new state she went to she brought all her notes with her. By 1993 she had the first three chapters of harry potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Rowling committed to training to be a teacher. This didn’t stop her from writing the rest of the series. In any spare time she had J.K. made sure to continue to write. As she worked up to finish writing the completed three chapters of the first book, she sent her work to many agents. Many wrote back, which got her more motivated to finish the series. The Philosopher’smStone was first published in June 1997. As the rest of the series continued to publish this brought great success to J.K., and inspiration to young readers.

Rowling received many honor awards for the Harry Potter series in particular. She influenced many kids across the globe. Because of this series millennials have been known to read more than any other generation. The way J.K. scripted these novels taught many kids important morals.
